# Getting started with Pocket

> Onboard to Pocket testnet, connect a wallet, claim tokens, and place your first spot or perp trade in minutes.

This guide covers the **Testnet V1 + V2** experience on Pocket. Testnet uses simulated funds only; ; there is no real deposit or withdrawal.

## Who this is for

Testnet is currently an **internal validation environment** (team + market makers). Access may be invite-only depending on deployment settings.

## End-to-end flow

    Go to [pocket.fi/trade](https://pocket.fi/trade). You can browse markets before connecting a wallet.

  <Step title="Connect or sign in">
    * **Wallet**: MetaMask, WalletConnect, OKX Wallet, or Coinbase Wallet
    * **Email (V2)**: Email + OTP via Privy; an embedded wallet is created automatically

  <Step title="Complete onboarding (V2)">
    New users see a combined **Welcome + Terms of Use** modal. You must accept the [Terms of Use](/legal/terms-of-use) and [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy-policy) before trading.

    After acceptance, follow **Enable Trading**:

    1. **Claim testnet tokens** — default allocation is test USDC
    2. **Establish connection** — sign once to create a local trading key (gas-free)

    If you skipped the onboarding faucet step, use the standalone [Testnet faucet](/onboarding/testnet-faucet) page or the in-trade faucet entry.

    * Pick a market from the selector (use [Favorites](/platform/market-favorites) to pin pairs)
    * Choose **Spot** or **Perps**
    * Submit a **Market** or **Limit** order
    * Confirm fills in the bottom panel tabs

  <Step title="Verify onchain">
    Search your transaction hash in [Clob Scan](/explorers/clob-scan) or open [Pocket Scan](/explorers/pocket-scan) for full chain data.
